Scotland’s Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA) courses are open for registration. Please fill in the relevant form to book your preferred dates.

All courses listed are delivered by an independent trainer network and therefore trainer costs may apply. Please see course details for more information.

All training materials are subsidised by Scottish Government. PHS manage the delivery of materials to each trainer, therefore no costs for materials are passed on to participants. (Please note: The Independent Trainer Network are not employees of Public Health Scotland.)

Public Health Scotland prioritises the following key priority areas for all of the PHS managed programmes. 

Key priority areas

• Health and social care, including emergency responders and community pharmacy
• Frontline supporters such as debt and money advice, homelessness, violence against women and girls, community justice, addictions services, transport (bus and taxi drivers), hospitality and retail, including hairdressers and barbers
• Education, including higher and further education, counsellors, youth work
• Third sector agencies working with communities of interest or location
